While looking at a $100 bill today, it struck me that Ben Franklin looks like quite the smug S.O.B. I then studied other drawings and representations of Ben. Same reaction. Smug Smuggety Smug Smuggerton. Maybe I'd be smug, too, if I accomplished what he did. Maybe I'm being too harsh.

Did you ever see a picture of him showing his teeth? Maybe he smiled like that because he was embarrassed of his smile. It wasn't uncommon back then for people to not show their teeth since some were missing, stained, rotten or crooked. Just wondering. Watch someone with awful teeth smile, they always look like they are smug.
